Yes! It's so weird because I feel racism towards Asian people is so normalized that even today people don't really see a problem with it (an example is Lizzo, Beyonce, and other artists removing ableist language from their songs the minute they realize its offensive to a community, but Doja Cat has yet to remove "now we both look asian" from So High). I feel like we internalize the normalization and see it as "well it could be worse" so we never really speak up or complain. Like I said, I wouldn't classify it as traumatic... but it does affect you, especially in the long run.
