Historiography classes really helped me learn how to write not just about history, but in general. I'm guilty of being long winded at times, but I like long sentences! So, sometimes I focus on concision and other times I say screw academia, I'll do what I want (lol) but it all depends on what I'm writing about and who my audience is.
